A Place for Powder

Once upon a time there was a beautiful baby horse named Powder. This was his name because white was the only color on his small body, with the exception of his big blue eyes. Powder was so handsome. Everyone said that he belonged at the farm where he was born because they thought he was great. One day, the owner of the farm discovered that Powder was blind and he was told he could no longer live on the farm. Most people knew that the owner of the farm was wrong; everyone is exactly the same in God’s eyes. Some people don’t understand very important things about life; the owner didn’t understand.

Soon, in a faraway place where blind horses were loved, someone heard about Powder. “Oh my,” they said, “why would his owner make him leave his home because he cannot see?” They decided to invite Powder to come to live with them. It wasn’t very long before a nice man brought the beautiful white baby horse to live at the new place where everyone loved blind horses. When Powder stepped off the trailer, everyone said “Hello Powder! Welcome home!” Powder made lots of friends at the new place. They helped him learn a lot about his pasture. Powder thought his new place was great!

One day, a helper at the new farm saw that Powder wasn’t walking right. In fact, he was stumbling around. “Oh no,” she thought, “I wonder if something is wrong with Powder?”

Something was wrong. Terribly wrong. The vet came and checked him out. She told the farm helpers that Powder had a bad disease and he was going to die very soon. The helpers at the farm began to call other helpers and told them to come quickly. They were very sad. Powder was going to die. Everyone talked together and decided to make his last days really happy.

The helpers at the farm wanted Powder to live, but they also knew that Powder would love the special place where he was going once he died; Heaven. God lives in Heaven, and it is a place without tears and hurt. When people die we miss them on Earth but we know they are in a better place.

One night, the leader knew Powder was so sick and did not feel well at all. She hugged him very carefully and cried big tears. She was very sad that he was going away, but she knew he was going to Heaven where he could be whole again. In the middle of the night, Powder died in her arms and went right to Heaven.

The helpers cried and a special funeral was planned for Powder. To remember him, they planted flowers on his grave and went to see it often. But Powder wasn’t sad. He was right there in Heaven the moment he died. Powder loved Heaven! He had finally found the place he needed. Powder thought, “Heaven will always be my place. Forever and ever. No one will ever tell me to leave this place! No one ever leaves Heaven. I’m safe here!”

So it was that Powder lived forever and ever running in the beautiful pastures in Heaven where God lives. One by one Powder’s friends and family joined him there. And just like Powder, everyone thought that Heaven was truly a wonderful place; forever and ever.

Doing What comes Naturally

Okay  Today is Thursday and the week is still not over because there are a few more post for me to post because I stated that there will be some beauty and crafting ideas during this week because my blog is about my life and my hobbies is crafting so, I planned to do some crafting in this year which is not a lie but, I also want to promote organic beauty as well so, if you are following me for the beauty and crafting here is more latest updates of what I am doing in beauty.

Natural products are typically created with oils, minerals and, plant extracts that are gentler on the skin compared to the stuff that is made with chemicals so, I found some products that are filled with wholes and goo-for-you ingredient that will enhance your beauty, naturally.

This is Shescentit Moisture Mist created with Aloe, Honey, and Shea butter this leave-in conditioner detangles and revives even the dullest tresses giving them luster and bounce.  This product cost only $11 and can be bought at Shescentit.com

This next one is Oyin Handmade Body Butter and I am already familiar with this products line already but, I must have looked over this products for this is a chocolate lovers can take their obsession to a new level with the chocolate-scented hydrating bar that uses pure cocoa butter and coconut oil to moisturize.  This product cost $12 and can be bought at OyinHandmade.com

red-hot-sparkling-soakNow this is another one but, its only 96% organic, Gluten free, and vegan however, 96% of the ingredients used is safe for you the other 4% not so much but, who is to argue when you are looking incredibly hot? This is Red Hot Shandy Sparking Bath Soak and there are others in this product line that are really good but, this one is the most popular compared to the rest. This product contains Soybean, Sunflower and Apricot oils along with its scent of red hot cinnamon to increase moisture retention while grape-seed and olive fruit oils improve the skins texture.  Yeah that will make the men come a running from every mile, this product can be purchase for $20 at FarmhouseFreshGoods.com.

sr-product Okay this product is worth the $36.95 at either Saffronrouge.com or Whole Foods Market.  The pure formula is ideal for all skin types but especially keeps dry, mature and sensitive skin soft and supple. Fermented grain extract removes every trace of dirt, makeup and impurities, while bentonite clay calms irritation. Soothing jojoba and sweet almond oils maintain skin’s natural moisture balance and anthyllis extract tones and nourishes. After rinsing, skin feels pampered and velvety smooth. Has a soft almond scent. Now if you want to have beautiful skin this is the product for you because this product will make you throw some in the trash.

Now we move on to the nail polish and nail polish remover.  To be quite honest I prefer to use organic and safe brands when it comes to pedicures rather than name brand products because you can get infections and not even know it so, if you can make it possible for yourself how about investing in a nail polish and nail polish remover that is safe for health.

Now I started off with Priti NYC nail polish but, I am going to recommend the Polish Remover wipes because there are very affective.

This conditions nails as it cleans them so, you don’t have to worry too much about damaging your nails but, this luxury remover is non-carcinogenic which is the most common concern other than biodegradable , it has been infused with lemongrass oil to nourish nails and leave behind a refreshing scent.  I have been using Priti for years and have to say that my nails have grown longer and are very strong thanks to this product.  It cost $9.99 and can be bought at PritiNYC.com.

Zoya is the most popular brand of Organic nail Polish out there on the market other than Priti and a few others.  This is one of the few products that is free of formaldehyde, toluene and other harsh ingredients  this vegan-friendly polish have you feeling good about your purchase while turning heads with its ravishing colors including red.  Now this can be bought just about anywhere I highly suggest you buy it on Zoya.com because there its $8.

Now lets go on to hair nutrition because there is a another product that I found in walgreens and CVS for  $8.49 its called Salon Grafix healthy Hair Nutrition Conditioning Cleanser.

This  is suds-free like Wen so when you cleanse your hair of dirt like the popular Wen this without sulfates while also conditioning your hair so, natural botanical extracts do the work, leaving your hair in a citrusy soft state. isn’t that lovely so, head to Walgreens of CVS for this fine products before someone else gets it.

... LUSH Emotional Brilliance | LUSH Liquid Lipstick: review, photos

Last but not least is the lush stores liquid lipstick.  I never really have tried liquid lipsticks because the traces of lead and other harmful agents but, this long-lasting lipstick uses rose wax, jojoba oil and candelilla wax to soften and moisturizefor pouty lips with a punch of serious color it can also double as a cream blush.  $22.85 at Lush stores.

Okay that is it for the beauty items for this post but, there will be more to come in the near future because I am going to organic line of beauty more so inorganic however, I will add some things that are not organic which I advise to use sparingly so you will not have too much chemicals in your skin.

Beauty of Dark chocolate

The cacao bean

Chocolate comes from the bean of cacao fruit. Cacao beans have been used medicinally for thousands of years. Fresh cacao beans are super-rich in antioxidants — molecules that protect skin from environmental damage — containing 10,000 milligrams of flavanol antioxidants for every 100 grams of cacao. Compared to other foods, they’re among the best sources of antioxidants.

Antioxidants 101

Here’s how antioxidants fight free radicals and slow down damage.

  • Free radicals. Our world contains harmful pollution, radiation, smoke and other chemicals, which create unstable molecules called free radicals. These unstable molecules “steal” electrons from nearby stable molecules. As a result, the formerly-stable molecules turn into free radicals, and a chain reaction ensues. So, what’s so bad about these free radicals? They can cause wrinkles, elasticity loss, skin damage and even cancer.
  • Antioxidants. Fortunately, antioxidants save the day by donating one of their own electrons. This donation neutralizes the unhealthy chain reaction of free radicals. Even after donating an electron, antioxidants don’t become free radicals themselves. Instead, they remain stable and unaffected.

Skin benefits

  • Might prevent signs of aging. Because antioxidants in cacao defend against free radicals, they might be able to stave off lines, wrinkles and discoloration.
  • Might offer UV protection. According to a study in The Journal of Nutrition, participants who drank a special chocolate drink every day for 12 weeks experienced “25 percent less skin redness in response to UV exposure and also improved their skin texture and hydration,” writes Rory Evans in Allure.

Getting the benefits

Don’t stock your shelves full of candy bars just yet. Preliminary research suggests that milk and dairy products found in candy may actually reduce antioxidant absorption. So, how can you ensure you’re getting those beneficial antioxidants?

Look for chocolate containing at least 50 percent cacao, and aim for three or four ounces daily, according to Allure.

Also, don’t assume that dark chocolate is less tasty than its lighter counterpart — many people actually prefer dark cacao for its intense and natural woody flavor.
